About the event

Seth Walker is one of the most prolific contemporary Americana artists today. A multi-dimensional talent, he combines a gift for melody and lyric with a rich, Gospel-drenched, Southern-inflected voice and masterful guitar playing. His latest studio album, I Hope I Know, produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers, and singles like “We Got This,” “Spirits Moving,” and a cover of Van Morrison’s “Warm Love” further cement his reputation.

Walker’s accolades are numerous. The Vinyl District praises him as “an accomplished guitarist and an even better singer,” while All Music calls his vocals “brilliantly nuanced… natural, clear, sharp, and effortlessly elegant.” Nashville Scenecelebrates his smooth phrasing and accessible style, and Country Standard Time hails him as the poster boy for Americana’s “Big Tent” blend of blues, gospel, pop, R&B, rock, and country.

In 2021, Walker added author to his credentials with Your Van Is On Fire, a memoir capturing the humor and heart of a touring musician’s life through essays, poems, and paintings accumulated over his nearly 30-year career. Written during the pandemic lockdown, the book offers a first-hand account of an artist in perpetual motion, chasing the muse wherever it leads.

Born on a commune in rural North Carolina to classically trained musician parents, Walker played cello before discovering the guitar in his 20s. Introduced to the blues by his Uncle Landon Walker, a musician and disc jockey, he found inspiration in artists like T-Bone Walker, Snooks Eaglin, and B.B. King. Since then, he’s released ten albums, broken into the Top 20 of the Americana Radio Charts, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart, and earned praise from NPR, American Songwriter, No Depression, and Relix.

Walker tours extensively, performing at venues and festivals worldwide. He’s opened for acts like The Mavericks, The Wood Brothers, Raul Malo, Paul Thorn, and Ruthie Foster. Currently based in Asheville, NC, after living in Austin, New Orleans, and Nashville, Walker has absorbed the sounds and musical heritage of each city. With a deep respect for roots and tradition and a gift for blending contemporary songwriting, he brings warmth and grace to every note.
